The Pan American Center for Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Veterinary Public Health (PANAFTOSA/SPV)

is a scientific and technical cooperation center of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), linked to the Department of Communicable Diseases and Environmental Determinants of Health (CDE). PANAFTOSA is responsible for coordinating the PAHO Veterinary Public Health Program, working on the prevention, surveillance and control of zoonoses; promoting initiatives to improve food safety systems and the eradication of foot-and-mouth disease, with the goal of promoting public health and regional socioeconomic development. The objective of this portal is to promote training and technical cooperation among different stakeholders within the scope of PANAFTOSA/SPV-PAHO/WHO, promoting the protection of human, animal and environmental health under the One Health approach.
